Public Talk with Gen Kelsang Dornying
Wed 1 Feb | 7.30 - 9pm | Ballaarat Mechanics’ Institute
It’s not uncommon to feel we are wandering aimlessly through life. Searching for, but never truly finding the contentment and happiness we seek. What have you daydreamed about and wished for in your life? For some it’s a large house, well paid job or fast car. For others it’s reputation, good looks, power, excitement or adventure. Many seek meaning and happiness in relationships. All these things can make us superficially happy for a short while, but they can never give us the pure and everlasting happiness that all of us, in our heart of hearts, long for. Happiness is a state of mind, so it’s cause must also be within the mind. The real cause of happiness is inner peace.
Join Buddhist monk and meditation teacher Gen Kelsang Dornying for a one-night-only public talk on true happiness. Gen Dornying will explain the art of meditation, and how to enjoy great quality of life – whatever happens!

This is a self-guided retreat.
25 - 26 February | KMC Australia (Dandenong Ranges)
On this two-day retreat, we have the opportunity to increase our lifespan, merit and wisdom, through the special meditation practice of Buddha Amitayus. Our human life is our most precious possession because it gives us the opportunity to improve ourself and attain the supreme happiness of enlightenment. We therefore need a long and healthy life.
To engage successfully in spiritual practice we also need wisdom, as well as the merit or good fortune that gives our mind the strength to support the growth of inner realizations. Amitayus is the Buddha of long life, merit, and wisdom. By engaging in Amitayus practice, we can develop these qualities and eventually attain the deathless state of enlightenment. We can also use this practice to help remove obstacles that endanger the lives of others, especially our close friends and family.
